Ice Cream Social
Enjoy kids' activities, food vendors and free ice cream at the Near South Ice Cream Social and Prescott School community's 10th annual Summer Festival Friday, October 26, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at Prescott Park, 1930 S. 20th St.
The event will include community artists, musicians, crafts and entertainers. Have your face painted or your portrait drawn. Explore your artistic side with art projects. Explore the Prescott outdoor classroom, the fossil dig or stroll along the walking path and gardens. Bring your picnic basket, or purchase food from vendors.
As part of the green school and neighborhood recycling efforts, families and friends are encouraged to bring a water bottle to the summer festival to minimize waste. Take advantage of recycling and composting stations to deposit any event materials like cups and bowls.
